Curriculum :

Each intructor will be involved in the delivery of

 

• Delivery of a shore based session .
• Delivery of a water based session.
• The instructor will demonstrate Sailing skills equivalent to Pre Entry level.
• The instructor will demonstrate knowledge of the IS SBSS scheme.

 

• Assessment is continous during the day.
• Satisfactory demonstration of these skills will be required for revalidation of instructor certificate.
• There will be individual debriefs at the end of each session.
• If personal sailing skills are not to the required level trainees may be requested to repeat  Dinghy Pre entry Assessment in order to revalidate as an Instructor.

Prerequisites :

To revalidate an Instructor Certificate each candidate must also:

• Have instructed at least 10 days per year since certificate was issued
• Hold a Valid Emergency Care or First Aid certificate.

Instructor revalidation is valid for 5 years.

Qualifications :

Successful trainees will revalidate their I.S.A. Instructor Certificate for 5 years.

For Multidiscpline Instructors it is only necessary to do one revalidation course per year.
